Equipment and Technology

This page provides an overview of the hardware, software, and other accessories available at NOVA Libraries.

Print, Copy, Scan

A valid NOVACard or guest card is required for printing and copying.

Printer/Copiers/Scanners

Multi-functional Printer/Copiers/Scanners (B&W and Color) are available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library. Add money to your NOVACard/guest card at the NOVACard machine located on the 2nd floor of the library.

Scanners

Two flatbed scanners are available on a first come, first serve basis. They are located on the 2nd floor of the library.

Computers & Software

Computers

Dell computers are available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library. Log-in with your MyNOVA username and password. 

Software

All library computers are equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access), Adobe Reader, and Respondus Lockdown Browser.

Specialized software (MyMathLab, AutoCAD, etc.) is available on the computers located in Student Life on the 1st floor of the Learning Commons building, LC 100.

Headphones

Headphones are available to checkout for library-use only and are located at the circulation and reference desks located on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library.

 

Calculators

Graphing and scientific calculators are available to checkout overnight and for library-use only. 

Calculators are located on reserve at the circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the library.

Anatomical Models

Models 

  • Torso
  • Leg
  • Arm
  • Bones

Models and bones are available to checkout for library-use only and are located on reserve at the circulation desk on the 2nd floor of the library.

Charging Stations

Charging stations (compatible with iPhones and androids) are available on the 2nd and 3rd floor of the library.

Remember to take your device with you when you leave.

Portable Projectors

Two ML1050ST+ Optomo projectors are available for checkout for up to 2 hours and are for library group study room use only (302D and 302E). All borrowers must agree to the terms and conditions, including replacement fees for lost, stolen or damaged projectors.

Connect the projector to a laptop PC computer or USB storage device to display office documents, PDFs and images. 

The portable projectors are available for library group study room use only and located at the reference desk on the 3rd floor of the library.

Assistive Technology

Accessibility Software

Three accessible computer stations are available with JAWS and Read and Write Gold. There is a station on each floor of the library as well as the library classroom, 302F.

Magnifier

A desktop electronic magnifier is available on the 2nd floor of the library.
