Why Use a Book?

You will not need to read the entire book for this project.  Instead, use parts of the book:

- Use the table of contents to find out main ideas related to your topic.
- Use the index at the back of the book to find specific sections of the book focusing on a certain aspect of your topic (e.g., a region, a policy, an event, or a specific person/group).

Search Tips

Type in only the words most important to your topic.  If you don't get enough results, you may need to be more general.  Sample searches:

child soldiers
poverty AND united states
food security
human trafficking

Once you search your query in the Library Catalog, you can limit the results by Resource Type (books, multimedia) or by Campus.
