Things look a little different at NOVA Libraries, but our commitment to NOVA students is unchanged. Here's what to expect:

Temporary Changes

Please be aware that limited library services are available at this time.

Borrow, Pick Up, and Return Library Items

Request physical books and DVDs through the library catalog for low-contact pickup at the libraries. For instructions on requesting items, see the Requesting tab on the Borrow, Renew, Request page. For the locations to pickup and return library items at each campus library, see the Pickup and Return Locations page.

Please note that returned items will be quarantined for at least one business day upon return; please be patient as they may remain on your library account for several days after being returned.

All campus libraries (except Manassas) are open for limited services Monday - Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information, please see the Hours, Locations, Staff page.


A limited number of computers are available.

Individual Study

Study tables and seating have been reconfigured to allow for distancing.

Some Services Temporarily Unavailable

These services are temporarily unavailable due to frequency of use:

  • Course reserves, including textbooks and models, are not available to borrow in the Libraries at this time. Please contact NOVA Bookstores for textbook rental and purchase options, or contact your instructor if you have issues purchasing your course materials.
  • Group/quiet study rooms are closed.
  • NOVACard machines are disabled. Please add funds to NOVACards online or at NOVACard offices.
  • Students cannot enter the book stacks. Please ask a staff member to retrieve your materials.
