Search the Library Catalog

Search Tips

Search for books on your topic in the library catalog. Use keywords about your topic including the author's name, the title of the short story, the collection in which the work was published, or broader topics discussed in the short story. 

Examples include:

Gabriel Garcia Marquez

  • Search for items about the author
  • Search for items critiquing "A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings"
  • Search for items critiquing "Leaf Storm and Other Stories"
  • Search for items discussing broader topics such as angels, magical realism, Christianity, or children's literature.

Naguid Mahfouz

  • Search for items about the author
  • Search for items critiquing "Zaabalawi"
  • Search for items critiquing "God's World: An Anthology of Short Stories" or "Dunya Allah"
  • Search for items discussing broader topics such as angels or societies and collapse.

Select 'Request Item' to have books from other NOVA libraries sent to Loudoun for pick up. If your book is at Loudoun be sure to write down the call number in order to locate the book on the shelf.

E-books and e-videos are accessible through the catalog. If you see any in your search results, click 'Online access' to open.
