HIS 121: United States History to 1877 (Tucker & Gildersleeve-Manassas)

Public Websites

There are lots of great resources on the web about the Antebellum Era. I recommend that you use only websites and web pages produced by colleges and universities.

If you find an article from an academic journal but the site asks you to pay for it, use the Find Journal by Title This link opens in a new window webpage to see if we have the article in our databases. If not, contact me This link opens in a new window and I'll submit an interlibrary loan request to get the article from another college or university that subscribes to the journal.

Here is a public website that is worth visiting:

  1. The Forced Migration of Enslaved People in the United States, 1810-1860 This link opens in a new window, part of the American Panorama This link opens in a new window project created by the Digital Scholarship Lab at the University of Richmond This link opens in a new window.
