Streaming Video: A Guide to Streaming Video Collections from NOVA Libraries

A guide to finding and using streaming video for use in courses. Questions? Contact Library Technical Services at LTS@nvcc.edu.

Swank

The Swank Films request period is April 1 through May 15 each year and is advertised in the Daily Flyer.

The licenses will be valid from July 1 through June 30. Film licenses must be renewed on an annual basis.

If budget limitations dictate that not all Swank Digital Campus requests can be accommodated, films will be selected based on potential savings impact for students.

Please note:  These films do not have public performance rights.

Kanopy

When you search for films at Kanopy, you'll see "Request Access" on a film's title card when it's not yet available at NOVA.  Select Request Access and complete the form with as much detail as possible. There are limited funds for this resource so requests should be made prior to or at the beginning of the semester the film will be used.

Kanopy licenses are for one year.

Please note: Only some Kanopy films have public performance rights. Films with public performance rights have a "PPR" icon next to the running time on the details page.
