Articles

The best way to locate articles is through the library databases.  Go to Databases by Subject and look under the category Communication Studies, Film, & Theatre (CST) or Information Technology (ITD, ITE, ITN, ITP) to find a list of relevant databases.  You can also perform a search in the databases below.

  • Do not enter complete sentences in the search box. Use relevant topics or keywords to perform your search.
  • Put the word AND between search terms; social media AND mental health
  • Connect related terms using OR; social media OR social networking OR Instagram OR Twitter OR Facebook
  • Look for additional keywords or subjects offered.
  • Look for toolbars that provide print, email, and citation options.

Suggested keywords:

  • [film name in quotation marks] ex: "Wall-E"
  • [film release year if needed; helpful for remakes] ex: 2008
  • motion picture or film or movie or cinema
  • [film element] for example:
    • character or characters
    • plot or storyline
    • scene or scenes
    • visual elements or visuals or cinematography

Why can't I just use Google?
