Through the Library Website
NOVA uses EZProxy to allow for off-campus access to most online resources for current faculty, staff, and students. Login with your myNOVA ID username and password.
If you are starting from the NOVA Libraries website, simply click on the resource you want and you should be prompted for your myNOVA IDm when it is needed. If you routinely access resources away from the libraries website you might want to install the proxy bookmarklet.
Proxy Bookmarklet
If you often do your research from off-campus, we recommend you install the proxy bookmarklet on your browser's bookmarks toolbar. The bookmarklet is a snippet of code saved in your browser's bookmarks that lets you start at a resource rather than the NOVA Libraries website and still route the resource through our proxy service. This bookmark, when clicked in the bookmarks bar, catches the URL, adds the NOVA proxy prefix, and then reloads the page.

Create a bookmark manually on a touch device or other browser
- Create a bookmark but make sure the URL includes the following code instead of a web address:

Proxify URL Creator
Enter a library database URL in the box, and the proxy prefix will be added to the URL. The database must be included in a NOVA subscription and configured in our proxy server in order to work; free resources are usually not included.
The new URL will display above the box. Copy & Paste or click it to open in a new window.
