Equipment and Technology

This page provides an overview of the hardware, software, and other accessories available at NOVA Libraries.

Please note that all library services, including access to the below equipment and technology, can now be found in LC 300. 

Print, Copy, Scan

A valid NOVACard or guest card is required for printing and copying.

Printer/Copiers/Scanners

A multi-functional Printer/Copier/Scanner (B&W and Color) is available in LC 300, next to the internal elevator.

How do I add money to my NOVAcard? 

Funds can be added to your NOVAcard online through the GET portal, at the NOVAcard office (LR 222), or using the NOVAcard machines in LC 200 or by the LC cafe.

Computers & Software

Computers

Four (4) Dell computers are available in the library (LC300). Log-in with your MyNOVA username and password. 


Four (4) monitors are also available for patron use. Bring your laptop and connect via USB-C to charge and utilize an additional monitor! 

Software

All library computers are equipped with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access), Adobe Reader, and Respondus Lockdown Browser. 

Specialized software (MyMathLab, AutoCAD, etc.) is available on the computers located in Student Life on the 1st floor of the Learning Commons building, LC 100.

Headphones

Headphones are available to checkout for library-use only and are located at the circulation and reference desk in the library (LC 300).

 

Calculators

Graphing and scientific calculators are available to checkout overnight and for library-use only. 

Calculators are located on reserve at the circulation desk. 

Anatomical Models

Models

  • Leg
  • Arm
  • Bones

Models and bones are available to checkout for library-use only and are located on reserve at the circulation desk.

Portable Projectors

Two ML1050ST+ Optomo projectors are available for checkout for up to 2 hours and are for library group study room use only (302D and 302E). All borrowers must agree to the terms and conditions, including replacement fees for lost, stolen or damaged projectors.

Connect the projector to a laptop PC computer or USB storage device to display office documents, PDFs and images. 

The portable projectors are available for library group study room use only and located at the circulation desk in LC 300.

Assistive Technology

Accessibility Software

An ADA accessible workstation is available in the library, with a computer equipped with JAWS, Fusion, and Read and Write Gold. A similar work station is available in the library classroom, 302F.
