DRAFT Alma Tips: Fulfilling Hold Requests

When you receive a hold request in your Tasks widget, either for pick-up at your campus or ICL, follow the below steps. 

Required Role: Requests Operator

Fulfilling Hold Requests

1. Under the "Other requests" click on Pickup from shelf

2. Check the box next to the item, then click Print Slip. A pop-up will appear, click on Quick print


3. Print the slip and pull the book from the stacks. 

 

4. Click Scan In Items from your quick links item or Fulfillment > Scan In Items. Scan in item barcode and make note of its location.

 

5. Fold longways and place slip in book, then place in an ICL bag labelled with the receiving campus or on your campus's hold shelf. 

Sending items to LTS

You may need to send items to LTS (Library Technical Services) for processing or repair. These can be sent via ICL mail bag, with the LTS label visible. 

Please include a sticky-note with the following information, even if you've spoken directly with someone in LTS by email or phone: 


To: LTS, with the name of specific person if applicable

From: Name of campus library and/or specific point of contact person

Info about the items: could include "Gift Book/Donation - add to circulating collection"; "Needs repair - loose spine, needs spine label"; "Jim requested book."
